ATSWM Chapter 26.4

Chapter 26.4 I Like You Just The Same

Sang Yuanyuan slowly raised her eyes to look at him.

She saw on the corners of his lips floated up a sly smile: “Don’t seduce me like this. Don’t try to walk into my heart. If you let me get upset once more because of you, I will kill you.”

His gaze slowly focused, and it coldly fell on her face.

At this moment, Sang Yuanyuan felt that the hot spring’s water that was all over her body froze. The cold made her shiver gently.

She had a kind of strange intuition that she had accidentally touched the true reverse scale of this lunatic.

   What has she done?

She widened her eyes and recalled for a moment, but she could not remember anything extraordinary that she had just done.

Isn’t it just helping him take a bath?

Didn’t he ask for it himself?

She pursed her lips and met his eyes, grievously said: “Then, what if after you had obtained me, not only were you not bored, but instead, cherished me more, what should I do? I don’t want to die. I just want to be together with you nicely.”

“What do you want by staying together with me?” He said quietly, “Is it to have children? No, I will not want that kind of thing. Little Mulberry, there will be a day when you will not like me anymore. By then, if I have already liked you, what should I do? ”

As soon as her lips moved, it was pressed by him with a cold finger.

“Shhh. Do you want to say that you will always like me, until you die?” A smirk appeared on his face. “If so, it’s better to kill you now, lest it become a lie in the future.”

   She stared at him.

Under that pair of cold black eyes, there seemed to be a trace of vulnerability hidden deep inside. It was somewhat like a dead end sadness.

   This person, is too abnormal.

“How about this?” She raised her arms, gently wrapped around his neck and said, “Everyday, when I wake up, I will tell you whether I like you today as much as yesterday. Day by day, if it doesn’t change by the day I die, then you can believe that I have always liked you.”

There was a little bit of distinct tremor floated in his eyes.

The beautiful eyebrows slightly frowned, as if he had received a big killing move that is hard to resist.

A moment later, he closed his eyes.

Sang Yuanyuan is not sure that when he opens his eyes again, that he might as well just decide to straightforwardly kill her.

She leaned forward decisively and kissed the corner of his lip.

So far as it is, she actually can’t tell anymore that inside her heart, how many parts were the real feeling and how many parts were only acting.

Does she like You Wuming? More or less, there should be some.

He is really good-looking and has an extremely good figure. That demon aura part is also an extraordinary charm. He also saved her. That arrow, he probably got hit by that precisely because he turned back to help her.

However, the first time she opened her mouth to say ‘like’ to him, was a complete lie. Because of this wrong beginning, she can only say ‘like’ to him time and again. Until now, she doesn’t know whether she is lying to him, or lying to herself.

There’s tears that slipped down again.

Modern vs Historical, def historical/fantasy ones because sometimes these MCs/MLs seriously overstep the boundaries of laws and logic and if it’s historical there’d be less a chance for it to break my immersion from the story. Y’know, those; I don’t like this cannon fodder and have her raped and killed and tossed to feed the dogs (literally).
Just because they’re filthy rich doesn’t mean you can just kill ppl you don’t like… it’s plainly screaming “Hi, 2000 TV-dramas called and they want their clichés back.”-cringy.

i like both romance! esp if there’s transmigration/reincarnation elements within. but usually the historical romance have deeper plots than modern ones and usually more distressing (yes i love angst) however i love it nevertheless 🥰

As a fan of male leads that have… let’s be diplomatic and call it “heavier loves”, contemporary romances always feel a bit pale.
A historical aristocrat, a crazed AI struggling with newfound consciousness and emotions, or a literal fantasy monster would all have certain freedoms to express the darker aspects more extravagantly.
Ever read a Novel where a modern man threatens a doctors life if his one true love can’t be saved? I have and it’s cringey.
It just doesn’t work. Somehow I just can’t accept a male lead of a contemporary romance losing it, Even in circumstances as dire as that.

    There’s also the plot.
Romances that aren’t set in current day can have a whole lot more at stake then their modern counterparts.
    Better for drama.

If it’s a good story, any kind can be great, but personally I like the whole master-servant relationship (when the girl is the master). We can’t find that in modern romance unless is with those unrealistic super rich and snobish families, and I find “the domineering CEO” type too cringe

    Thanks for the translation!

  5. I have to say that I enjoy historical romance more because the stories and settings always seem to be more fantastical. Also, historical romances can come in all sorts of flavors from titles such as To Be A Virtuous Wife, to other titles like Father, Mother Escaped Again and Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang. I am always pleasantly surprised by the sheer variety of the historical romance genre.

Historical. I like the feels it gives when I read it, especially when places, traditions I know nothing about comes up. That’s what I call time travel through words.

Yeah it’s clear he’s just scared of letting someone close and being betrayed again, very cliche but whatever I guess.

And also MC indeed doesn’t know of she’s acting or truly likes him lol, welp you’re pretty weird yourself mc.

I like both, doesn’t really matter tbh I just need a good story and characters doesn’t matter where it’s set.

If its a historical with cultivation and fighting heck yes. But I also love modern ones with fighting so as long as the MC can kickass I think I am cool… Plus historical MLs with overbearing CEO personalities at least have the personal power to back the arrogance

I like both, but I suppose my preference is less towards mushy romance and more mature love. Historical stories are just so wonderfully tragic sometimes! I love my MCs all to be strong and skilled, with actual personalities!

Regarding the chapter, baby, did you Stockholm yourself into a relationship? I love it, but it’s so funny!

In my case I prefer the more yandere romance from historical romance, precisely because of what others have said, in a modern context it just doesn’t feel as alluring, it turns cringey and sometimes even terrifying, the romance feels forced and the MCs normally are too brainwashed by the author to actually fall in love.
When I read modern romance I prefer a more mature, healthy and stable love. The most darker, intense type of love in modern story that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed was from Guide to Rasing the Sick Villain and Devil’s Warmth.
I believe historical romance has more range to create a good yandere story, arranged marriages, rebellion, political struggles, more violent schemes and it is a setting in which most women have to depend on men whether they like it or not so it creates a more permissive attitude towards the controlling, possessiveness and jealousy from a yandere, at least I don’t feel as indignant as when I’m reading modern novels with the same setting.
Another point that I’ve noticed is that the MCs are way more interesting in historical romance than in modern novels. Precisely because women are seen as the weaker gender the protagonists tend to be more witty, resilient, shameless and astute, in some cases they even show some yandere tendencies as well, which is all the more interesting.

I also prefer historical/fantasy romance. We are reading this for the fiction. IMO it seems more like a biography when it’s a modern romance.

I almost wish someone would tell me those exact words!
