Chapter 28.1 The Level of Shame Exploded

      After Sang Yuanyuan arrived in You Wuming’s territory, she took a bath, tended his wounds, and had a good nights rest.

      The next day was the day of the sacrificial offering, wherein “flawless maidens” are poisoned to death to pacify underworld demons. At the end of the ceremony, the priests found a scratch on the sacrifice and move to offer another girl named Shuang’er. Shuang’er used some sort of manipulation technique (that caused her eyes to look like twirling stars) on Sang Yuanyuan.

      You Wuming declared the first sacrifice a success, while Sang Yuanyuan started to get dizzy and tired. She reminisced on what she remembers of the sacrifice from the book, and noticed a contradiction regarding Meng Wuyou’s birthmark. When she asked You Wuming about it; he got jealous, hypnotized her to make sure she’s not interested in her ex, knocked her out and took her to a meadow.

      While unconscious, Sang Yuanyuan had a dream from the perspective of the sacrificed girl that indicated Shuang’er would be in trouble. This dream was almost certainly caused by Shuang’er’s manipulation and its contents can’t be fully trusted. Sang Yuanyuan brings You Wuming to save Shuang’er. Shuang’er seems to be being forced into sexual acts with a guard. Do to the nature of Shuang’er’s powers, this could be a set up.You Wuming has the guard killed and promotes Shuang’er to Sang Yuanyuan’s maid.

      Later that night, Shuang’er uses her powers to immobilize Sang Yuanyuan and imitates her voice to seduce You Wuming.
