ATSWM Chapter 35.1

Chapter 35.1 Heart Is In The Throat

At that moment, Sang Yuanyuan felt that her heart had stopped beating.

She was half a corridor away from the wing room.

Huangfu Jun’s soft and displeased snort rang out: “So improper?”

Sang Yuanyuan’s scalp was numb. She leaped lightly and jumped onto the carved wooden fence that is half a man high. She flew straight across the corner and landed at the door of the open wing room.

She had no time to take a breath, looked down at the clothes on her body, and then ran straight in. Before You Wuming began to speak nonsense, she passed by the screen and grabbed his arm.

She raised her head in a hurry and saw that his face was calm and his black eyes were like the deep ocean.

He turned his head slowly and fixed his eyes on her.

Sang Yuanyuan took a deep breath. With a flattering smile hung on her face, her eyes slowly swept over the two people sitting opposite each other in front of the tea table. She bowed slightly and said, “Pardon, this boy is a newcomer. He doesn’t understand the rules, and bumps into distinguished patrons. I shall serve the tea for the two patrons then. “

She turned around and gave You Wuming a push.

“What are you in a daze for? Change your clothes and go to the water room to help!”

She squeezed his hand heavily and her eyes were soft, somewhat pleading unintentionally.

She felt the sight of Huangfu Jun and Meng Wuyou fell on her back. Her scalp numbed and she softly urged You Wuming: “Go.”

He pursed his lower lip.

“Keep an eye on the boys for me. Don’t let them become lazy.” She said quickly and gave him another push.

This is a hint that he should not do something on his own. Since he already knows that Huangfu Jun is here, he might as well bring others over to surround and suppress him.

You Wuming stared at her deeply, turned around and walked around the screen.

Sang Yuanyuan quietly breathed a sigh of relief, turned around with a smile and said to Huangfu Jun: “Sorry, sorry. This group of newcomers doesn’t understand the rules and collides with distinguished patrons. I will make up for him.”

Huangfu Jun leaned back, squinted his eyes and said, “Come here and serve the tea.”

Sang Yuanyuan was somewhat dumbfounded. She thought Huangfu Jun would just drive her out.

Is he not in a hurry to talk about the proper things with Meng Wuyou?

Sang Yuanyuan calmed down and stepped forward quickly. Her hands skillfully and nimbly picked up the boiling pot and washed the cups, brewed, divided and collected.

Huangfu Jun has been staring at her.

Her movements are not messy at all. As she ran down the corridor, she was so nervous that she was on the verge of collapse. At this moment, after successfully sending You Wuming away, she was in the calmest state after the big storm.

She even has the leisure mood to lower her head and smile, while saying, “Distinguished patrons, there’s no tea to drink on my face.”

After that, she slanted her eyes and glanced at Huangfu Jun with half flattery and half anger.

Looked really like an old tea lady.

She and You Wuming disguised themselves as ordinary merchants, and one could not see any big problems in the way they dressed up. So, what was being tested was their acting skills.

Huangfu Jun slightly raised his eyebrows.

Sang Yuanyuan’s sight dropped down and she quickly returned those tea sets to their original position.

After completing the process, she can withdraw without raising other’s suspicions.

After placing it aside, holding the tea table as a support, she smiled happily and was about to get up.

The back of her hand was suddenly held down.

Sang Yuanyuan’s heart jumped and her sight fell slowly.

She only saw that Huangfu Jun put out a hand and covered her whole small hand. His hand was very large, his index and middle fingers crossed over her wrist and clasped her. The thumb pressed her wrist pulse like a traditional Chinese medical practitioner.

She raised her eyes calmly and looked towards his face.

Huangfu Jun is extremely white. He is over forty years old but he looks like he is only in his early thirties. His long and slender eyebrows fly straight into the temples. His thin lips are as red as blood. The bridge of his nose was slightly like the eagle hook. His facial features could be said as handsome.

He was wearing a fine purple long robe, and at a glance one knew that it was made with a good material.

Purple only made him whiter.

He gently rubbed two times with his calloused thumb, and tenderly praised: “The tea lady has a good pair of hands!”

Sang Yuanyuan’s heart slightly stopped.

TN : well, I must say that all of the characters I’ve encountered till this chapter, have more depth and they are not written as just a dumb character. They are also a ‘person’ that has a brain.

Wait, there’s a reason for that? It’s not just her natural character?
I made a joke speculation way back that her Ultra Luck and addictive body came at the cost of the logic center of her brain, was I right?

Orifl is a transmigrator ,so she has that superiority in her . her luck too has a reason .if I say much it would be spoiler (so if you want spoiler you can go to nu spoiler thread,I have given spoilers there >< )
Best thing I like about this novel is every other chapter you get to know a conspiracy which have you hooked with it . And author did a great job of tying every "luck" ,"halo" ,nothing is without a reason .and there is no brainless character even orifl would have you pity at her end. When you feel like you have gotten "conspiracy" bam!! you are wrong .

I don’t know what it is about this chapter segment that inspired that TN, but yeah, I agree.
Even scouring my memories for the cannon fodder of the series:

Princess You’s plan to kill Sang Yuanyuan and ruin King Han’s feelings for Meng Wuyou was pretty solid if it weren’t for Miss Meng being from the Qing clan and our FL transmigrating in respectively.

Meng Wuyou’s big bro’s sacrifice so she might live to expand their family didn’t make much sense as he could produce more heirs as the head of a harem than she could as a concubine, but it was a decision born of familial love, so it makes it’s own sort of sense.

Shuang’er’s betrayel may have led to her death, but as someone who was once sold out to be a sacrificial offering it makes sense that she wouldn’t have a sense of security as a mere maid.

No matter where I think to, everyone’s motivations and mentalities hold up.

Yes, many of the characters in this story at least have some degree of reason in their actions, even if the actions themselves can be catastrophic
